Reductil Obesity Slimming Tablet Banned

reductilPrescription only slimming tablet Reductil has been banned by the European Medicines Agency due to safety concerns.

Reductil has had it license suspended until further notice.

Reductil uses the active ingredient Sibutramine, an appetite suppressant that works by fooling the brain into telling the stomach that it is full.

Reductil is the second prescription slimming tablet to be banned in the last year following Acomplia’s removal from pharmacists shelves.

Health watchdogs have stressed that anyone currently taking Reductil should stop immediately and consult with their GP.

The side effects are not thought to be fatal but 1,105 suspected adverse reactions have been reported, a third of them are thought to be of a serious nature.
