How To Buy The Best Slimming Tablets

diet-pillsIf you are currently browsing the internet looking for a slimming tablet or weight loss supplement the most important thing to remember is that the companies that produce the products have a duty to make their product look as attractive and appealing as possible – they are in business to make money first and foremost, especially the over the counter market.

There are basically two distinct categories of slimming pill – ones that are available via prescription …from your doctor or GP and those that can be bought on the high street or from the web.

Prescription slimming pills are usually pharmaceutically produced drugs and not available to buy or  simply on request – you cannot walk into your GP’s office and ask – mainly because it doesn’t work that way and secondly because there has to be specific reason …. you have to be what is considered to be extremely overweight or obese.

There is not a exact science to identifying if you are extremely over weight or obese – but there is a rough tool that you can use called the Body Mass Index calculator – if your Body Mass Index or BMI is around the 30 mark or over you should really start reducing this sooner rather than later.

Latest Additions To the Over the Counter Market

Alli slimming pillAlli – the hugely publicised fat blocker based on Xenical. Contains the active ingredient Orlistat that stop a percentage of dietary fat from being digested.

Alli is available in most high street stockists but certian restrictions apply. More about Alli

Appesat slimming pillAppesat – dubbed the seaweed slimming pill. A bioginate complex produced from natural substances that directly competes with hoodia.

Appesat is an appetite suppressant that works by creating a feeling of fullness. More about Appesat

So… if you do think you are obese or bordering on obesity your first course of action is to visit your GP – express your concerns and depending on your GP stance towards slimming tablets you may be lucky – but do be warned that any weight loss medication prescribed by your doctor is technically a drug and so does not come with some kind of a risk from a side effect. Your GP will no doubt highlight any potential risks.

This is why is very important to only take prescription slimming tablets under the supervision of your GP – do not be tempted to buy anything that is prescription only from the web as you may be putting yourself at risk – plus there is high chance you may be buying something that is counterfeit and completely useless.

The second major category is the non prescription slimming pill – or slimming pills that can bought over the counter or via the web – this is the market where the dreaded hype often comes into play.

If this is your first experience of research into slimming pills  – the biggest piece of advice I can give is not to believe everything you read on the manufacturers product site.  Slimming products that are freely available to buy are usually based around herbal and natural substances – there are very few rules governing what manufacturers can and cannot say – and the rules and regulations that do exist are rather blurry.

So – if you are in position where, for whatever reason the prescription route is one that is not open to you – you will have to buy a natural slimming product.

Nowadays there are hundreds of different brands from all over the world – the internet has made the health market and particular the weight loss market easily accessible.

The herbal weight loss market, just like any other industry is blessed with premier and superior products and cursed with dubious and inferior ones.

There isn’t really a best slimming pill – there are several available to purchase that have all the necessary accreditation and have undergone clinical trials – but one of the the most important factors to consider before buying any diet product from the web is – can I contact them. Product sites that supply just an email address obviously do not want to be contacted.

So, no matter how appealing the product seems always look for telephone number – if a company offers a legitimate product they will take orders by the telephone and equally answer any customer service issue by telephone. If you cannot find a telephone number on the product site then they have something to hide.

Which Slimming Pills To Buy

Which Slimming pills

With literally hundreds of slimming pills, diet supplements or weight loss products available to buy – choosing wisely has many factors to be taken into consideration.

HoodiaGuide is pro Hoodia – we will make no apologies for this.

Authentic, genuine and pure Hoodia is a wonderful and effective diet aid, but different circumstances have a major bearing on whether Hoodia should be the diet pill of choice.

People who want or need to lose weight can be very crudely pigeon holed into three categories.

The Morbidly Obese

Morbidly obese people should seek medical attention – an over the counter slimming pill or non prescription diet aid is not a recommended solution. BMI (Body Mass Index) is a rough indicator as to which category you are in. A BMI of 40+ is considered dangerously overweight. Check your BMI here

Alli Wonder Diet PillAlli the new “wonder diet pill” is now available to buy over the counter.

Is Alli really as goos as good as the media would have us believe.

Any medication or weight loss drugs should in all cases be administered under strict medical supervision. In most cases a large percentage of body fat needs to be shed.

The extremely overweight should lose weight in the safest possible manner and should not subject their body to a metabolsim shock – Some doctors or GP’s are in favour of slimming pills, some are not.

Possibly the most widley used GP prescribed slimming pill is Orlistat – brand name Xenical. Xenixal is a fat blocker that is extremely effective but can be prone to side effects, hence the need for GP supervision whilst on the drug. Read more about Xenical

The Overweight

This is a rather ambigious category – the overweight sometimes do not necessarily believe they are overweight, prefering to ignore comments and the obvious physical signs. Others understand their problem but either choose not do anything or find the thought of embarking on a weight loss journey to difficult to contemplate.

This category are ideal candidates for an over the counter slimming pill – but it is here that the choices have to be made. Xenical is not availlable to purchase and so is not an option. An understregth version of Xenical is available to purchase – brand name Alli, but it can produce side effects, although not serious but more an inconvenience. Read about Alli

Fat binding is similar to fat blocking (Xenical) without the potential side effects. Two of the most effective fat binding tablets freely available to buy without prescription are Proactol and LIPObind

Appetite suppressants are great for anyone who finds it difficult to reduce the amount of food they would normally consume. Appetite suppressants can dramtically reduce feeking of hunger – over time weight loss is natural result. Read how appetite suppressants work

Becomming Overweight

The third category are those that are just showing the signs of becomming overweight – usually the type of people that are middle aged and are not as active as they once were or enjoying the fruits of their labour and eating and drinking more than they should.

Appetite suppressants and fat binders are great methods for this group – but then agin so is plain and simple exercise. There is no myth or secret to staying in shape.

A word of warning concerning appetite suppressants – Hoodia is the most well known and widely sold appetite suppressor and prone to fake, replica or synthetic produce. Click here for a guide to buying Hoodia

Prescription Weight Loss Pills

Weight Loss Pills On Prescription

Prescribed weight loss pills

Weight loss pills via prescription – or prescription only weight loss pills means exactly that, only available via a prescription.

The type of weight loss pills that are obtained from your GP or doctor are very much weight loss drugs – far removed from the non prescription genre. In almost all cases the medicine obtained from a GP will be pharmaceutical grade, contain chemicals and almost no trace of any ingredient that could be considered natural or herbal.

Prescription weight loss tablets are not available to everyone – they are often given to patients that are at risk due there body weight and cannot diet sufficiently using more natural methods such as a change of diet or exercise.

Best Fat Binder

Morbid Obesity

WIth over half of the UK population over weight and an increasingly large proportion heading toward obesity more and more people are turning to their GP or doctor for help.

The simple fact of the matter is that GP will not prescribe a weight loss pill to anyone for cosmetic reasons or vanity, their has to be a serious identifiable risk.

Body Mass Index

The general guide for self assessment is the BMI or Body Mass Index. It should not be used as a definitive guide but more tool for realisation that you may need to change your lifestyle, eating habits or both. Check Your BMI here.

If your BMI number is mid thirties you should consider losing weight – if you are nearer the 40 mark a visit to your GP is strongly advised. The 40 BMI range is a strong candidate for a prescribed weight loss pill.

Prescribed Weight Loss Pills

The two most common prescribed weight loss pills are Xenical and Reductil. There is no real hard and fast rule as to which tablet your doctor may prescribe. Xenical is the better of the two – it is proven to be more effective and a great deal safer in terms of possible side effects.

Xenical OrlistatIt is strongly advised for anyone considering buying Xenical via the web DO NOT – it is highly likely that the Xenical purchased will be less than genuine. Only obtain Xenical from your GP.

Prescription Only weight loss pills should only be obtained from a GP!
